What I Create…

Most of my ideas start with a “what if?” I sketch, research, experiment, change my mind, and try again. Sometimes an idea becomes something real. Sometimes it stays on paper. I like seeing where it takes me.

Sketches & Concepts:

Inspiration
My ideas can start almost anywhere—my Sri Lankan heritage, a tarot card, another era, a season, or even a feeling I’m trying to understand. I research, collect images, make notes, and imagine what the idea could become.

Intention
I use color, texture, shape, fabric, and small details to tell a story. A saree can inspire something modern, tangled thread can represent anxious thoughts, and something as simple as stars, water, plaid, or polka dots can spark an entirely new design.

Impact
Sketching gives me the freedom to experiment without knowing where an idea will end up. I’m learning how to take something in my head and turn it into something someone else can see.

Thrifted & Found

Inspiration
I love finding pieces that feel different from what I would see in a regular store. Thrifting lets me discover vintage clothing, unexpected textures, and one-of-a-kind pieces that fit my style and inspire new ideas.

Intention
Sustainability is really important to me. Instead of always buying something new, I like giving clothes another purpose. I look for pieces I can wear as they are, style in a new way, or rework into something that feels more like me.

Impact
Thrifting has changed the way I look at clothes. I don’t see something as old or out of style just because someone else is finished with it. I see what it could become next.
