How I Connect…
People are a big part of what makes me happy. I love bringing people together, learning from people who see things differently, and helping create spaces where people feel comfortable being themselves.
Girls knowing that what they think, create, and say matters.
Shero’s Rise
Why It Matters to Me
I’ve grown up alongside Shero’s Rise, first helping to create the name and twelve pillar, and then, wherever I was needed. Over the past six years I have worked my way up to becoming a Junior Facilitator and Chair of the Young Shero’s Board. What keeps me coming back is the girls. I love watching them try something new, speak up, make friends, and realize that their ideas matter.
What I’ve Learned
I used to think helping someone meant jumping in with an answer. Working with girls who have different personalities and experiences has taught me to listen first. Confidence doesn’t look the same on everyone, and sometimes connecting with someone starts by making room for them to be exactly who they are.
Rise Up for Impact
Why I Got Involved
I wanted to learn whether I could take something I cared about and get other people to care about it too. Working with a four-person team, I helped build a fundraising strategy, reach out to donors, make pitches, and raise more than $10,000 for a local nonprofit.
What I’ve Learned
I learned that connection can create real impact. People don’t support an idea just because you ask—they want to understand why it matters. The experience pushed me outside my comfort zone and showed me how much can happen when people come together around something they believe in.
The more people I meet, the more I realize I don’t have to be the person with all the answers. I just have to be willing to listen, learn, and show up.
